Dickson Is “Siphoning” NDC Funds? Then Show The Proof!
For Nigerian politics, when somebody starts to make serious progress, bad belle people go surely enter market to start rumors.
Right now, some political actors have started throwing around heavy words, shouting up and down that Senator Henry Seriake Dickson is allegedly taking Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) money for his personal pocket.
Abeg, make everybody calm down first!
Accusing a senior statesman and National Leader of a major opposition movement of financial theft is not something you do with ordinary social media grammar or beer-parlor gossip. In law and in common sense, if you claim somebody diverted money, you must present the proof of financial diversion.

Talk Na Free, But Where Are The Receipts?
At the very heart of this smear campaign is the claim that NDC finances are being diverted. But political rhetoric no dey pay bank teller, and grammar no be debit alert.
If Dickson is allegedly taking NDC money for himself, there must be something physical and verifiable to show the world:
- Where is the transaction? Provide a date, a time, or an authorization voucher.
- Which bank account? Show the account number where party funds allegedly moved into private hands.
- Where is the authorized payment? Show who signed off on the transfer and where the funds ended up.
Without these basic facts, shouting accusations into microphones will never equal actual proof of financial diversion. Being the National Leader of the NDC does not mean Dickson is sitting inside the party’s treasury counting cash or signing daily cheques. The party has an administrative structure with a National Treasurer and a Financial Secretary who handle statutory documentation.
Assuming a leader touches money just because he commands respect and national following is pure mischief. Dey play, just dey play!
The “Highest Bidder” Fallacy: Who Paid What?
The critics have also attempted to spin another tired yarn: claiming that the candidate selection process inside the NDC is being auctioned to the “highest bidder.”
Na so bad belle people dey do: when their preferred candidates fail to build grassroots appeal, they run to the press to claim party tickets are for sale.
If anyone genuinely believes that candidate selection was manipulated for financial gain, let them bring out the facts:
- Who collected what? Name the specific officer or agent who received the money.
- Who authorized it? Present the paperwork or correspondence showing the illicit deal.
- Who ultimately benefited? Trace the money directly to Senator Dickson.
If you cannot answer those three basic questions with verifiable documents, na pure fabu you dey yarn. Selling tickets to the highest bidder is fundamentally incompatible with the principles the NDC was founded on.
A Proven Track Record of Standing For Integrity
Those trying to soil Senator Dickson’s white agbada are fighting an uphill battle against history. This is the same Dickson who, as Governor of Bayelsa State, pioneered the legendary Bayelsa State Transparency Law, organizing public briefings every month where every kobo that entered state coffers was accounted for before the press and citizens.
His long-standing reputation for institutional discipline and democratic leadership is why LEADERSHIP Newspaper named Senator Seriake Dickson their Politician of the Year 2026, highlighting his integrity, dedication to multi-party democracy, and capacity to build a disciplined national alternative ahead of the 2027 polls.
Even NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi publicly lauded Dickson’s recognition, celebrating his principled leadership and steadfast commitment to good governance, as covered by The Guardian Nigeria. A leader who has spent decades building credible platforms for national renewal is not someone who will suddenly abandon his lifelong values for petty party cash.
Scrutiny Is Welcome, But Evidence Is Compulsory
Nobody is saying Senator Dickson should be treated like a sacred cow. In a working democracy, every political leader should be open to scrutiny. But scrutiny is not slander, and accountability is not beer-parlor gossip.
If there is genuine, unassailable proof of financial diversion, put it on the table for all Nigerians to examine:
- Show the bank statements.
- Show the forensic paper trail.
- Show the direct connection to Dickson personally.
If those making noise cannot provide a single credible financial trail connecting Dickson to any missing fund, why on earth should Nigerians believe them?
The allegation is serious. The response should not be propaganda; the evidence must be equally serious. Until the accusers can back up their claims with facts, this is nothing more than empty political noise. Case closed!
