Tinubu’s Failure: US Congress to Freeze All Aid to Nigeria
(By The Political Razzmatazz Editorial Team)
In a major move, the U.S. House of Representatives recently passed a rule that plans to stop 100% of all U.S. money and security support to Nigeria.
This big step was pushed by Republican Congressman Greg Steube. The decision is based on deep worries about human rights and the lack of security in the country.
The new rule is very clear. It states that the U.S. will hold back all its aid until the U.S. Secretary of State sees real proof of change.
Before any money or support is released, the Nigerian government must show it is doing the following:
- Fighting terrorist groups that cause harm across the nation.
- Protecting Christians and other vulnerable groups from violence.
- Bringing attackers to justice and making sure they pay for their crimes.
This rule is a strong message to the current government that things must change quickly.
