Human rights lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has strongly condemned the recent inflammatory comments made by Islamic cleric Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir. Speaking in response to the cleric’s controversial speech at a political campaign event in Kano, Adeyanju delivered a blunt warning: religious hate is dangerous enough to tear Nigeria apart if left unchecked.

The backlash stems from a recent Kano campaign rally where Sheikh Jingir made highly divisive statements. During the event, the cleric reportedly urged Muslims to “show infidels their limit” and claimed that the Muslim population significantly outnumbers Christians in the country.
