Alex Otti to Uzodinma: You Cannot Speak for the South East on Tinubu’s Re-election

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has made a strong public statement regarding the upcoming presidential race. According to a Friday report by News Central TV, Otti declared that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma cannot speak for other South East governors or the people of the region about supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Personal Choice, Not a Regional Decision
Governor Otti explained that every elected governor has the right to take a personal political stand. However, he warned that these personal views should never be pushed as the collective voice of the South East.
He stressed the need to clearly separate a single person’s opinion from the general position of an entire region.

While Governor Uzodinma is totally free to declare his own support for President Tinubu, Otti noted that he does not have the power to make such promises for other governors or the millions of people in the South East.

Even though the governors may share similar regional interests, political endorsements remain strictly personal. Governor Otti firmly concluded that unless all the leaders sit down and formally announce a joint agreement, no single governor should ever claim to represent the political views of the entire South East region without their direct consent.
