RMK Condemns Sheikh Jingir’s Remarks, Says Nigerians Will Reject Poor Governance in 2027

Former Kano State Governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (RMK), has strongly condemned the controversial statements recently made by Islamic cleric Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir at a campaign event in Kano.

Describing the cleric’s comments as highly divisive and inappropriate, Kwankwaso stressed that such dangerous rhetoric has no place in Nigeria, especially at such a critical moment in the country’s history.

Leaders Must Promote Unity

Kwankwaso emphasized that both political and religious figures carry a heavy responsibility to unite the nation rather than tear it apart. He called on leaders across all sectors to actively promote truth, peace, and reconciliation among citizens.

Addressing the local atmosphere in Kano, RMK reassured the public that the people of Kano State do not support or stand by the cleric’s divisive comments, reaffirming the community’s commitment to peaceful coexistence.

Looking Ahead to 2027: A Test of Governance

Turning his attention to the broader political landscape and the 2027 general elections, Kwankwaso noted that the ballot box will serve as the ultimate judge of leadership performance.

He stated that the upcoming elections will offer Nigerians a direct opportunity to reward effective leadership while rejecting poor performance at the polls. Delivering a firm assessment of the current state of the nation, Kwankwaso declared that the present administration has clearly earned the latter.
